Mrs. Mary Dorothy Otten, 79, of 2703 Elm, died at 4:29 p.m. Thursday (August 8, 2002) in Blessing Hospital. Born August 10, 1922 in Quincy, Mary was the daughter of William and Esther Sturhahn Altheide. She married Norris E. Otten on January 4, 1939 in Palmyra, Missouri. He survives. Mary was a member of the Women of the Moose, V. F. W. Auxiliary and the Rocky Point Club. She was employed at Electric Wheel, Davis Cleaver, International Shoe Factory, Miller's Statue and retired after 20 years from Motorola. Also surviving is a son, Ronald Otten Sr. and his wife Phyllis of Quincy; a daughter, Marilyn J. "Sally" Patterson of Quincy; seven grandchildren, Ricky Lee Patterson, Terri Lynn Patterson,Tamara Leigh Homan and her husband Danny, Debra Miller and her husband Jeff, Ronald Otten Jr. and his wife Sheri and Casey Otten all of Quincy and Jeff William Patterson and his wife Amy of Fredericksburg, VA.; 15 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Otten was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Gary N. Otten; two brothers; and two sisters. Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 9:00 in Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. Charles Baker. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and Monday until the time of services at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. |
