EDWIN "PETE" PATTERSON
 
Mr. Edwin "Pete" Patterson, 70, of 5126 Homan Falls Dr., died at 12:20 p.m. Tuesday (December 18, 2001) at Blessing Hospital.

Born July 17, 1931 in Keokuk, Pete was the son of Emmons and Beulah Bowles Patterson.

Pete was a 1949 graduate of Quincy High School where he excelled in tennis, baseball, and basketball. He then attended Moberly Jr. College where he also participated in baseball and basketball. He was past president of the Springfield Jaycees and the Jaycees Exhausted Roosters. He was an active member of the Quincy Exchange Club, Elks Lodge 100, Quincy Chamber of Commerce, and Springlake Country Club.

Mr. Patterson came back to Quincy in 1981 and purchased Sterling Awards which he owned and operated until his death.

Surviving is a special friend, Shirley Timmerwilke of Quincy; three sons, Jim Patterson of Savannah, Ga., Mike Patterson and his wife Tracee of Barrington, IL., and John Patterson and his wife Nicole of Ft. Collins, Co.; and five grandchildren, Kaitlyn Patterson of Savannah, Malinda, Makala, and Nathan Patterson, all of Barrington, and Toby Patterson of Ft. Collins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister in infancy.

Memorial services will be held Friday morning at 11:00 at the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. George Tomko. Inurnment will be in Greenmount Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army.
