| SHERWOOD 'SHUCKS' PEARN |
| Mr. Sherwood "Shucks" Pearn, 86, of the Sycamore Health Care Center, formerly of Ashland, IL., died at
8:46 p.m. Wednesday (October 3, 2001) in the home. Born December 12, 1914 in Ashland, Shucks was the son of Omar and Lulu Flynn Pearn. Shucks served his country in the U. S. Army during WW II seeing action in the Luzon and New Guinea campaigns. He received two Bronze Battle Stars. He was employed as a heavy equipment mechanic in the Springfield area for many years. Surviving is a brother, Gayland Pearn and his wife Florence of Waterford, MI.; a sister, Kathleen Ralls and her husband Dave of McAllen, TX.; and nieces and nephews. Shucks was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Dorothy Evans; and four brothers, Charles, Forrest, Albyn and John Pearn. Graveside services will be held Saturday morning at 11:00 in the Ashland City Cemetery by the Rev. Stewart Liegey. Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Sycamore Health Care Center. |
