Mrs. Letha L. Pickett, 77, of the Good Samaritan Home, formerly of 1410 South 30th, died at 6:00 a.m. Sunday (August 10, 2003) in Good Samaritan Home. Born February 25, 1926 in Quincy, Letha was the daughter of Archie and Bessie Brumbaugh Thrasher. She married Leroy Pickett on November 17, 1946 in Quincy. He survives. Letha was a member of the First Christian Church in Lewistown, Missouri. She was a volunteer at the Blessing Hospital Tea Room and was active with the Boy Scouts for many years. She enjoyed sewing and working in her flower garden. Letha was employed for the W. T. Grant Co. and later as a buyer for Jacks Discount Stores until her retirement. Also surviving are two sons, Ronald Pickett and his wife Donna of Taylor, MO. and Donald Pickett and his wife Karen of Quincy; a daughter, Karen Elsie and her husband Robert of Loraine; seven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; a brother, Everett Thrasher of Lewistown, MO.; a sister, Doris Brumbaugh of Lewistown, MO.; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Pickett was preceded in death by her parents; a sister in law, Glenna Thrasher; and a brother in law, Harry Brumbaugh. Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 10:30 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. Roger Selves. Entombment will be in the Quincy Memorial Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 and Wednesday morning until the time of services at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Good Samaritan Home. |
