Mr. Darin W. Piper, 37, of 957
Gerard, died at 6:40 a.m. Monday (July
26, 2004) in his home.
Born August 13, 1966 in Quincy, Darin was the son of David W. and Betty
Jean Gieselman Piper. He married Amy Repko on September 30, 2000 in Madison
Park Christian Church in Quincy. She survives.
Darin was an active member of Madison Park Christian Church and enjoyed
reading, hunting and fishing and loved the outdoors. He was an avid sports
fan and enjoyed playing baseball in High School and college and for the
American Legion Baseball Team. Darin was well known for his sense of humor
and loved being with his family and friends.
A 1984 graduate of Quincy High School, Darin attended Culver Stockton
College, Illinois State University and John Wood Community College before
going to work in the wheel assembly department at Titan Wheel for the
last
14 years.
Survivors include his wife, Amy of Quincy; his parents, David and Betty
Piper of Quincy; a twin brother, David Piper of Quincy; two uncles, Richard
Piper and his wife June Ann and Pete Piper and his wife Shirley all of
Hannibal, MO.; five Aunts, Virginia Harsell and her husband Jack, Ada
Zupan
and her husband John and Grace Ann Genovese all of Hannibal, MO. and Pearl
Davis and her husband Jeff and Debbie Schindler and her husband Francis
all
of New London, MO.; his father in law, Don Repko of Shorewood, IL.; his
mother in law, Karen Repko of Joliet, IL.; a brother in law, Mike Repko
and
his wife Susan of Salt Lake City, UT.; a sister in law, Stacy Burns and
her
husband Jim of Joliet, IL.; seven nieces and nephews and several cousins,
including Homer VanMeter of Rock Island, IL.
Darin was preceded in death by his grandparents; and two Uncles, Wayne
Piper and Robley Piper.
Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 10:30 in Madison Park
Christian Church by Pastor Keith Ehresman. Burial will be in Greenmount
Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday evening from 4:00 to 8:00 in the Zehender
Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home and Friday morning from 9:00 until
the
time of services at Madison Park Christian Church.
