| Mr. Arnold "Stub" Platt, 57, of Payson, died at 6:50 p.m. Thursday (April 18, 2002) in St. John's Hospital
in Springfield. Born February 10, 1945 in Hannibal, MO., he was the son of Theodore and Nina Faye Evans Platt. He married JoAnn S. Schuckman on December 13, 1985 in Palmyra, MO. She survives. Mr. Platt enjoyed fishing and volunteered as a fireman for the Payson Fire Department. He was employed at Doyle Manufacturing for 20 years. He also owned and operated Stubs Autobody in Payson with his son for over 20 years. Also surviving are two daughters, Kimberly Jo Brown and her husband Joe of Plainville, and Laura Richmiller and her husband Matthew of Liberty; one son, Jamie Platt and his wife Gina of Payson; two step daughters, Christine Watts and her husband J.R. of Quincy, and Roxanne Gioviannia of Burlington, IA; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren; four brothers, Theodore W. "Wilber" Platt and his wife Shirley of Liberty, Ronald G. Platt and his wife Beverly of New London, IA., Herbert A. Platt and his wife Fran of Payson, and Paul D. "Doug" Platt and his wife Tina of Quincy; four sisters, Billie Mae Uppinghouse and her husband Roy of Payson, Shirley Ann Nixon and her husband Ralph of Mesa, AZ., Beverly Jean Cane and her husband Don of Quincy, and Coriene Denton of Milan, IN.; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 11:00 in Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home in Payson by the Rev. Rick Welch. Burial will be in Payson New Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday morning from 10:00 until the time of services at the funeral home in Payson. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association. |
