Mrs. Lucille L. Power, 92, of the Maple Lawn Nursing Home in Palmyra, formerly of 2900 State St., died at 2:10 a.m. Sunday (March 2, 2003) in the home.

Born July 3, 1910 in Shelby County, Missouri, Lucille was the daughter of Thomas and Bertha Fitzpatrick Douglass. She married Kenneth H. Power on June 6, 1931 in Quincy. He died on October 28, 1965.

Mrs. Power was a member of Madison Park Christian Church and the Willing Workers Quilting Circle. She enjoyed sewing, reading and traveling.

She was employed at the International Shoe Factory and later as a cook for Sprout's Inn for 20 years until her retirement.

Surviving is a daughter, Dorothy Ryan and her husband Don of Quincy; two grandchildren, Donna S. Ryan and David M. Ryan both of Quincy; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Power was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a granddaughter, Linda Ryan; three brothers, Fred, Lloyd, and Willard Douglass; and a sister, Maude Dauma.

Private family services will be held Wednesday Quincy Memorial Park by the Rev. Henry Pratt.

Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the charity of the donor's choice.
