| Mrs. Victoria Priscillus Reich, 90, of Blessing Long Term Care, formerly of RR 3 Liberty, died at 2:45 p.m. Saturday
(April 6, 2002) in Blessing Long Term Care. Born November 1, 1911 in Quincy, Mrs. Reich was the daughter of Henry and Catherine Rouse Barnes. She married Theodore H. Reich Sr. on October 7, 1931 in Ursa. He died January 17, 1993. Mrs. Reich was a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church where she served as church Treasurer and taught Sunday School for many years. She was also a member of the United Methodist Women and the Illinois Farm Bureau Women's Committee and was the chairperson of the Make it with Wool Contest. In her youth, Vickie was a member of the Ursa women's basketball team. Mrs. Reich and her husband enjoyed traveling and traveled extensively with the Liberty Lion's Club. Mrs. Reich helped on the family farm in the Ursa bottoms when she was growing up. She later farmed with her husband in Fall Creek Township before moving to Liberty where they farmed and raised hogs. Mrs. Reich's son Ted currently operates the family farm. Surviving is a son, Theodore Reich Jr. and his wife Carol of Liberty; a daughter, V. Darlene Nasby and her husband Oliver J. of Liberty; six grandchildren, Dawn Farlow and her husband Stanley of Camp Point, Dirk Reich and his wife Lisa of Liberty, Christopher Reich and his wife Denise of St. Petersburg, FL. Joel Nasby of Minocqua, WI., Carla O'Neil and her husband Sean of Silt, CO. and Eric Nasby and his wife Eve of San Diego, CA.; ten great grandchildren, Erik and Trevor Nasby, Connor O'Neil, Brittany, Nathan and Brooke Farlow, Nikki, Kendell, Cassidy and Sydney Reich; two sisters in law, Nellie Barnes of Lafayette, N. C. and Mary Barnes of Decatur, IL.; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Reich was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Lewis and Earl Barnes; and a sister, Elizabeth Reich. Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2:00 in Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. Roger Selves. Burial will be in Quincy Memorial Park. Visitation will be Monday from 12:00 Noon until the time of services at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Blessing Long Term Care or the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church. |
