Mr. Robert "Bob" Riggs
Jr., 73, of 1402 Locust, died at 10:26 p.m.
Friday (October 23, 2004) at his home.
Born March 14, 1929 in Quincy, Bob was the son of Robert and Helen M.
Uhlenbrock Riggs Sr. He married Phyllis Williams on September 24, 1949
in
Piggott, AR. She survives.
Mr. Riggs loved to feed the birds and animals and enjoyed nature. He
served his country in the Illinois National Guard.
Bob owned and operated Bob's Appliance Repair for over 20 years until
his retirement in 1981.
Also surviving is one daughter, Debra Lynch and her husband Russell
of
St. Charles, MO.; two sons, David W. Riggs Sr. and his wife Cynthia of
Tucson, AZ., and Robert L. Riggs of Quincy; ten grandchildren, David W.
Riggs Jr. and his wife E.J. of Tucson, AZ., Michael Riggs of Santa Fe,
NM.,
Daniel Riggs and his wife Jessica of Tucson, AZ., Richard Riggs and his
wife
Mandy of W. Des Moines, IA., Rendi Anderson and her husband Tom of Cedar
Falls, IA., Raymond Alexander and his wife Patti of St. Charles, MO.,
Jeffrey Alexander and his wife Erica of Liberty, IL., Robert Alexander
of
St. Charles, MO., Susan Crabtree and her husband Jesse and Leeann Riggs,
all
of Quincy; eight great grandchildren; one brother, Vernon Riggs and his
wife
Donna of Quincy; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Ricky Joe Riggs; and
one brother, Carlyle "Buster" Riggs.
Private family funeral services will be held at the Zehender Robinson
Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by Rev. George Tomko. Burial will be in
Greenmount Cemetery.
There is no visitation.
Memorials may be made to the Quincy Humane Society.
