Mrs. Christina Robinson, 96,
of 2037 Spruce, formerly of 1420 N. 2nd,
died at 2:10 a.m. Saturday (June 19, 2004) at the Sycamore Health Care
Centre.
Born April 20, 1908, in Edina, MO., Christina was the daughter of
Vannis and Rachel Yates Reid. She married Russell T. Robinson on July
8,
1924 in Edina, MO. He died August 14, 1969.
Christina was a member of the Bethel African Methodist-Episcopal
Church. She enjoyed gardening, fishing and reading. She and her husband
traveled extensively throughout the United States.
Mrs. Robinson was employed at Premier Laundry for several years
retiring in 1970.
Surviving are two daughters, Catherine Weldon and her husband Creighton
Jr. of Quincy and Beatrice Glenn and her husband Obion of Bronx, NY.;
a
daughter in law, Catherine Robinson of Bronx, NY.; twenty four
grandchildren, Creighton Weldon III and his wife Janice, Edith Ardella
Weldon Mallory, Russell Robinson Jr., Sheryl Robinson, Janice Robinson,
Wanda Bell, Paul Douglas, Melvin Russell Douglas, Kevin Douglas, Gary
Allen
Douglas, Terry Douglas, Deborah Robinson, Darin Robinson, Keith Robinson,
Kenny Robinson, Linda Williams, Janella McNeil, Pamela Hunter, Kimberly
McNeil, Christopher McNeil, Roslyn Robinson, Reynolds Robinson, Dwayne
Robinson and Brenda Jones; several great grandchildren; several great
great
grandchildren; one great great great granddaughter; and one nephew, Wilbert
Howard and his wife Sally of Peoria, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons,
Russell Robinson and Reid Robinson; one daughter, Violet McNeil; and one
granddaughter, Kay McNeil.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 11:00 at the
Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by Rev. Jimmy Bailey. Burial
will be in Greenmount Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 and
Wednesday morning until the time of services at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Bethel African Methodist-Episcopal Church.
