Maxine Sayles, 81, of 829 Cherry, died at 7:43 a.m. Saturday (April 27, 2002) in Blessing Hospital.

Born May 2, 1920, in Lincoln, NB., Maxine was the daughter of Carl and Beulah Gordon Sayles.

Maxine enjoyed being with people and loved to shop.

She had been employed at St. Mary's Hospital, the Cuckoo Clock Restaurant, Carson Pirie Scott Tearoom, and did Domestic work for many years. She was currently employed at the St. John's Thrift Shop.

Surviving is a sister, Joyce Sayles of Quincy; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Kermit Lewis.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Gordon Sayles; and four sisters, Opal Shivers, Elaine Easley, Cleo Mills, and Bonnie Scott.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 1:00 in Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. Orville Jones and Rev. Donald Baily. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Wednesday afternoon from 11:30 until the time of services at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Maxine Sayles Memorial Fund.
