FLORENCE "NANA" SCARRY
 
Mrs. Florence A. "Nana" Scarry, 91, of the Lewis County Nursing Home in Canton, formerly of 611 Country Club Heights and New York City, died at 12:50 p.m. Thursday (July 18, 2002) in the nursing home.

Born July 15, 1911 in New York, N. Y., Florence was the daughter of William and Anna Gorey Bobb. She married John Cronin in Manhattan, N. Y.. He died August 15, 1941. She married John Scarry in Bronx, N. Y. He died on December 17, 1960.

Nana was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church. She loved arts and crafts and enjoyed crocheting and needlepoint.

Nana was employed as a salesperson at Alexander's Department Store in the Bronx for 29 years. She retired in 1973.

Surviving is a son, John Cronin and his wife Pat of Dumont, New Jersey; four daughters, Julia Baker and Margie Collins and her husband Charles all of Quincy, Anna Bligh and her husband Robert of Endicott, New York and Rose Ann Parks and her husband George of Valley Stream, New York; 18 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; two sisters, Loretta Nocella of New York, NY and Anna Walsh of West Haverstraw, NY; a brother, Fred Bobb of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Scarry was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; a grandson who died in service to his country in Vietnam, PFC Kenneth McKenna; and three brothers.

Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 9:30 in Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home and at 10:00 in St. Peters Catholic Church by the Rev. Roy Bauer. Burial will be Wednesday morning in St. Raymond Cemetery in Bronx, New York.

Visitation will be Sunday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 and Monday morning until the time of services at the funeral home. A Christian Wake Service will be held Sunday evening at 6:30 at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Quincy Alzheimer's Association.
