| Mr. Robert W. Schild, 73, of the Good Samaritan Home, formerly of 2422 South 36th, died at 1:25 p.m. Sunday (November 3, 2002) in the home. Born February 11, 1929 in Quincy, Mr. Schild was the son of John William and Pauline Myra Hufendick Schild. He married Betty A. Junkerman on December 2, 1950 in Quincy. She survives. Mr. Schild was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, the Pattern Makers League and the Quincy American Legion Post #37. He served his country in the U. S. Marine Corp during the Korean Conflict. A 1947 graduate of Quincy High School, he worked as a pattern maker for Gardner Denver Co. for 20 years, retiring in 1967. Also surviving are two sons, Mark S. Schild and his wife Brenda K. of St. Charles, MO. and Robin T. Schild and his wife Viktoriya of Quincy; a daughter, Becky Kay Headley and her husband Garrett of Lexington, KY.; four grandchildren, Tyler Schild and Devin Schild both of St. Charles, MO. and Garrison Headley and Jordan Headley both of Lexington, KY.; a sister, Dorthea Piper and her husband Parke of Quincy; two sisters in law, Kay Schild of Quincy and Mary Scranton and her husband Marion "Bud" of Payson; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Schild was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Paul Schild and Eugene "Willie" Schild. Cremation rites were accorded to Mr. Schild. A private family service will be held at a later date. Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home in Quincy is in charge of the arrangements. Memorials may be made to Multiple Sclerosis Society, Alzheimer's Foundation or the charity of the donor's choice. |
