| Mrs. Lillian Aimy Schnellbacher , 95, of the Hotel Quincy, died at 1:25 p.m. Saturday (December 29, 2001) in Sunset
Home. Born September 24, 1906 in Quincy, Lillian was the daughter of Benjamin and Mary Aimy Madison Collins. She married Roy Charles Schnellbacher on July 21, 1927 in Quincy. He died February 20, 1963. Lillian had been active with the D. A. R., Gardner Museum, Quincy Society of Fine Arts, Quincy Museum of Natural History and Art, Friends of the Castle, the Quincy Art Barn and the Good Samaritan Home Auxilary. Surviving is a son, Robert Schnellbacher and his wife Linda of Cleveland, Ohio; a granddaughter, Robin Ann Kuhns and her husband Joseph of Columbus, Ohio; a great granddaughter, Sarah Nicole Kuhns of Columbus, Ohio; a sister, Ferne Degitz of Quincy; and a niece, Carolyn Smick of Keokuk, Iowa. Lillian was preceded in death by her parents; a son at birth, Richard F. Schnellbacher; and a sister, Frances Kostigian. At the request of Mrs. Schnellbacher, private interment was held in Greenmount Cemetery. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2002 at 1:30 at the Good Samaritan Home. Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Memorial contributions to honor Mrs. Schnellbacher may be made to the Salvation Army, Quincy Humane Society, Quincy Public Library, Shriner's Children's Hospital or the Jesuit Seminary Association in San Francisco and mailed to the funeral home at 1435 State St., Quincy, IL. 62301. |
