Leonard J. Schrader, 94, of the Good Samaritan Home formerly of the Nauvoo/Sutter area, died at 11:08 a.m. Saturday (December 22, 2001) in the home.

Born April 16, 1907 in Lewis County, Missouri Leonard was the son of Charles A. and Mary Schmitt Schrader.

Leonard was an eternal optimist and was known as Mr. Happiness. He was a world traveler visiting in more than fifty countries. He owned and operated a Furniture Store and Transportation Business, and sold Real Estate.

He served his country in WWII as a First Lieutenant in the Air Force.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers Daniel and Elmer Schrader and two sisters Eleanor Wemhaner and Lottie Johnson.

Services will be conducted Wednesday morning at 11:00 a.m. at the Bethlehem United Church of Christ in Sutter, Illinois by the Reverend. Burial will be in the church cemetery.



Visitation will be Wednesday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m. at the church.

Memorials may be made to Bethlehem United Church of Christ.

Arrangements are being handled by the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home in Quincy.
