Mrs. Marian E. Schweickart, 89,
of Sunset Home, formerly of 1028
Monroe, died at 10:04 a.m. Tuesday (September 14, 2004) in Blessing
Hospital.
Born November 29, 1914 in Quincy, Marian was the daughter of Albert
and
Lydia Mester Hageman. She married Ed J. "Steve" Schweickart
on September 5,
1933 in Chicago, Illinois. He died June 21, 1978.
Marian was a member of Salem Evangelical United Church of Christ. She
enjoyed playing cards and was active in the Salem Afternoon Guild and
Salem
Singles. Marian was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
Mrs. Schweickart was first employed at Kresge's for 12 years and then
as an executive secretary at Davis-Cleaver for 48 years until her retirement
in 1970.
Surviving is a brother, William "Bill" Hageman and his wife
Marjorie of
Quincy; a sister, Carlene Stegeman of Quincy; several nieces and nephews;
and great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother,
Richard Hageman; and five sisters, Virginia Hackamack, Irma Clark, Ruth
Rouse, Cornelia Hageman, and Louise Hageman.
Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 10:30 at the Zehender
Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by Rev. Steve Disseler. Burial will
be
in Greenmount Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Friday evening from 4:00 until 6:30 and
Saturday morning until the time of services at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Transitions of Western Illinois Developmental
Training Program.
