| Mrs. Nyda J. Shaw, 59, of 408 Parkview, died at 4:04 p.m. Friday (August 31, 2001) in Blessing Hospital. Born September 9, 1941 in Quincy, Nyda was the daughter of James Henry and Lily Rose DeWitt Ashbaker. She married John H. Shaw on June 4, 1960 in Edina, MO. He survives. Nyda enjoyed doing craftwork. She loved her family and cherished the time she spent with them. Also surviving is a son, John W. Shaw and his wife Kristen of Ft. Madison, IA.; two daughters, Nyda Carleen Orr and her Fiance' Rob Harrell and Veronica Blake and her husband Steve both of Quincy; seven grandchildren, Kristine Orr, Bobby Orr and Nicki Shaw all of Quincy, John W. Shaw Jr., Jessica Shaw and Josh Shaw all of Ft. Madison, IA. and Matt Shaw of Mediapolis, IA.; two brothers, Lloyd Ashbaker and his wife Nancy of Houston, TX. and Dennis Ervin and his wife Ruby of Quincy; a sister, Rosemary Conley and her husband David of Walbridge, OH.; and several nieces and nephews. Nyda was preceded in death by her parents; and two grandsons, Bryan and Brandon Shaw. Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 10:00 in Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. Roger Selves. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 pm and Tuesday until the time of services at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association. |
