Mrs. Edna Sheedy, 91, of Sunset Home, formerly of 2200 Maine, died at
4:20 a.m. Tuesday (August 6, 2002) in Sunset Home.
Born September 28, 1910 in Quincy, Edna was the daughter of Charles and
Amelia Cross Ertel. She married Wilfrid "Mike" Sheedy in July
1942. He died in November, 1982.
Edna was a member of St. James Lutheran Church and a graduate of Quincy
High School.
She was employed by the Federal Government in the State of Washington
for many years until her retirement in 1976.
Surviving are two nephews, Richard Ertel and his wife Betty of Quincy
and Monte Ertel of Florida; three nieces, Janet Terstegge and her husband
Floyd, Carolyn Caine and her husband Chet both of Quincy and Mary Lou
Senalik and her husband John of Springfield, IL.; and several great nieces
and great nephews.
Edna was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers,
Walter, Albert and Lawrence Ertel; three sisters, Esther Ertel, Florence
Schwela and Lena Jones; a nephew, Walter Ertel Jr. and a niece, Norma
Groce.
Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 11:00 in Zehender Robinson
Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. Marlin Rempfer. Burial will be
in Greenmount Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 and Friday morning
until the time of services at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to St. James Lutheran Church.
