| Irene A. Thenhausen, 101, of North Adams Home, formerly of 1503 Highland Lane, died at 3:00 a.m. Tuesday (May 22,
2001) in North Adams Home. Born July 12, 1899 in Quincy, Mrs. Thenhausen was the daughter of Joseph and Anna Rottman Budde. She married George W. Thenhausen on January 20, 1921 in Quincy. He died July 18, 1965. Mrs. Thenhausen was an active member of Trinity United Church of Christ where she was a Sunday School Teacher and Daily Vacation Bible School Teacher and a member of the Women's Guild. In her early years, she was employed in the office of F. W. Woolworth. When she and her husband started their family, Mrs. Thenhausen stayed at home with her family. Surviving is a daughter, Bette Mester of Quincy; a grandson, Mark Mester and Jeri Waterman of Quincy; a granddaughter, Pamela Mester of LaGrange, MO.; a great granddaughter, Haley Nicole Mester of Quincy; two nieces, Arlene Powers and her husband Harold of Quincy and Judy Burrows and her husband Dennis of Michigan; and three nephews, Donald R. Bangert and his wife Virginia, and Michael Budde and his wife DeeAnn all of Quincy and Larry Budde and his wife Ann of Colorado; and several great nieces and great nephews. Mrs. Thenhausen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son in law, Eldon Mester; two sisters, Esther Bangert and Ruth Mickle; and three brothers, Walter, Herbert and Lawrence Budde. Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 11:00 a.m. in Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. Timothy White. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Friday morning until the time of services at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Trinity United Church of Christ or North Adams Home. |
