LEONA THESEN

Miss Leona Thesen, 95, of the St. Vincent's Home, formerly of 2110 State Street, died at 1:58 p.m. Thursday (January 3, 2001) in St. Vincents Home . Born September 13, 1906, in Quincy, Leona was the daughter of Frederick William and Lillie Koch Thesen. Leona was a graduate of Quincy High School and Carthage College. She taught 4th grade at Washington School for many years until her retirement in 1972. Leona is survived by several close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Isabel Smith; and a brother, Paul Thesen. Graveside services will be held Saturday morning at 10:30 in Greenmount Cemetery by the Rev. Stephen Schuette. There will be no visitation, but friends are invited to the services. Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Memorials may be made to the St. Vincent's Home.
