MARJORIE ELIZABETH THOMAS
Mrs. Marjorie Elizabeth Thomas, 77, of Moberly, MO., formerly of 718 North 11th, Quincy, died at 10:15 a.m. Sunday (April 15, 2001) in her home.

Born April 10, 1924 in New Canton, IL., Mrs. Thomas was the daughter of Earl and Ida B. Kurtz Thomas. She first married Clarence Earl Whittaker and he preceded her in death December 16, 1959. She then married Jesse C. Thomas on June 23, 1973 in Payson, IL. He died in 1994.

Mrs. Thomas was employed at Davis - Cleaver Foods for several years until her retirement in 1973.

Surviving are two daughters, Diana Bennett and her husband Roger of Huntsville, MO., and Marilyn Jesberg and her husband Ernest of Emden, MO.; three grandchildren, Susan Elizabeth Jesberg, and Ernest Jesberg, both of Emden, MO., and Norman Donald Newton Jr. and his wife Dixie of Salisbury, MO.; one great grandson, Norman Donald "Buddy" Newton III of Salisbury, MO.; and one brother Lyndle T. Chenowith of Quincy .

Mrs. Thomas was preceded in death by her parents; one infant son; and one sister.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday morning at 11:30 in the Shearer Cemetery near New Canton, IL. by the Rev. George Tomko.

There is no visitation, but friends are invited to the graveside service.

Memorials may by made to the American Cancer Society.
