BETTY L. THOMPSON

Mrs. Betty L. Thompson, 71, of 1058 E. 2100th Liberty, died at 7:05 p.m. Saturday (August 7, 2004) in her home. Born October 6, 1932 in El Dara, IL., Betty was the daughter of Frank and Phamie Ward Dietzman. She married Gerald Thompson on October 5, 1949. He survives. Mrs. Thompson and her husband loved camping and wintering in Arizona and Texas. They also enjoyed having family gatherings and cook outs with their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Betty was employed at Motorola until it's closing and then at Seling Mills in Quincy for several years until her retirement. Survivors include her husband, C. Gerald; two sons, Gerald "Gary" Thompson and his wife Rebecca of Loraine and Lindy Thompson and his wife Mary of Liberty, IL.; a daughter, Karen Goodwin of Quincy; five grandchildren; five step grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and five step great grandchildren. Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Robert Dietzman; and an infant sister, Faye Eloise Dietzman. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 Wednesday afternoon at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Liberty Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 5 00 to 7:00 and Wednesday until the time of services at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Blessing Cancer Center.
