JESSE W. TRENTER
 

Mr. Jesse W. Trenter, 89, of the Sycamore Health Care Center, formerly of 519 College, died at 12:20 a.m. Sunday (July 13, 2003) in Blessing Hospital.

Born May 1, 1914 in Marion County, Missouri, Jesse was the son of Jesse H. and Altha Davis Trenter. He married Mildred F. Fenton on April 2, 1937 in Palmyra, Missouri. She died November 25, 1988.

Jesse was a life member of the Paper Maker's Union Local 198 and was a former member of Rocky Point Club. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. In his youth he enjoyed playing baseball and had the opportunity to try out with the St. Louis Browns.

He worked in the C. C. camps and then as a machine tender for Celotex for over 42 years. He retired in 1979.

Surviving are two sons, Jess L. Trenter of New London, MO. and William H. Trenter of Quincy; 17 grandchildren including David L. Trenter and his wife Barb of Liberty, Pamela A. Carter and her husband Bob of Phoenix, AZ. and Tanya Trenter, Mary Dee Wand, Jeffrey T. Trenter and his wife Jill, Melissa M. Spidle and her husband Jim, Michelle L. Ripper and her husband David and William P. Trenter and his wife Amy all of Quincy; several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Mr. Trenter was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a daughter, Patricia A. Woodworth; a granddaughter, Angela Hilgenbrink; and a daughter in law, Jean Trenter.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 10:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. Tom Waters. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 and Wednesday morning until the time of services at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Blessing Foundation for Hospice.
