Mrs. Barbara Turek, 68, of 1210 Shady Acres Lane, died at 4:00 a.m. Thursday (January 23, 2003) in Rochester Methodist Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota. Born August 15, 1934 in Quincy, Mrs. Turek was the daughter of Delbert L. and Bernice C. Hoener Albers. She married Robert W. Turek on August 6, 1955 in Quincy. Mrs. Turek was a graduate of Quincy High School and attended William Woods College in Fulton, MO. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and the Stitch & Bitch Sewing Circle and was an avid bridge player. Mrs. Turek was the regional sales manager for Sarah Coventry Jewelry for many years. She later was employed as the office manager for Quincy Building Materials until her retirement. Surviving are three daughters, Jill Turek of Naperville, IL.; Dr. Jennifer Rasmussen and her husband Dane of Cedar Falls, IA. and Julie Turek of Quincy; two grandchildren, Alayna Rasmussen and Cayla Rasmussen both of Cedar Falls, IA.; a brother, Neil Albers and his wife Lois of Green Valley, AZ.; two nieces, Jane Leenerts and her husband Randy of Irving, TX. and Peri Cole and her husband David of Quincy; and two great nieces, Emily Leenerts and Brooke Leenerts both of Irving, TX. Mrs. Turek was preceded in death by her parents. Memorial services will be held Friday afternoon at 2:00 in Madison Park Christian Church by Pastor Bruce Willard. Inurnment will be in Quincy Memorial Park. The family will meet with friends following the services at the church. Memorials may be made to the Adams County A. R. C. or Madison Park Christian Church. Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. |
