Mrs. A. June Uppinghouse, 72, of Payson, went to be with her Lord at 5:30 p.m. Thursday (July 10, 2003) in Blessing Hospital.

Born October 1, 1930 in Chicago, Illinois, June was the daughter of LaVerne and Audrey Strickland Herpin. She married Delbert "Red" Uppinghouse on April 16, 1949 in Payson. He preceded her in death on March 11, 1998.

Mrs. Uppinghouse attended the Plainville United Methodist Church. She enjoyed camping and was an avid Cardinal fan and racing fan, especially watching her son, grandsons, son in law and nephews race stock cars.

June was employed at Motorola for 25 years until their closing. She then became a cook and was currently a bus driver for Payson Community School District No. 1.

June will be greatly missed by her loving family and the many friends and students whose lives she touched.

Surviving is a son, Randy Uppinghouse and his wife Pam of Payson; four daughters, Carol Wilson and her husband Jeff, Sherry Kabrick and Cathy Koetters and her husband Robert all of Payson and Chris Kroencke and her husband Rick of Kinderhook; nine grandchildren, Randy Uppinghouse, Ritchie Uppinghouse, Brent Koetters, Kobi Koetters, Robin Wilson, Joel Kroencke Shawn Kroencke, Joey Wilson and Josh Wilson; seven great grandchildren, Arika Uppinghouse, Austin Uppinghouse, Andy Boden, Heidi Boden, David Boden, Juliet Wilson and Dakota Uppinghouse; a sister, Joyce Shepard and her husband Dick of Payson; a brother, George Herpin; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Uppinghouse was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a granddaughter, Dana Lynn Uppinghouse; two sisters, Patricia Weese and Doris Needs; and a brother, Vernon Herpin.

Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 10:30 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home in Payson by the Rev. Ron Cox and Rev. Rick Welch. Burial will be in the Payson New Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Sunday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 and Monday until the time of services at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Plainville Methodist Church.
