Mrs. Helen Irene Vance, 78, of 1317 Harrison, died at 8:45 a.m Saturday (March 8, 2003) in Blessing Hospital. Born September 21, 1924 in Clayton, Irene was the daughter of Henry B. and Ruby Fierge Kaufman. She married Dr. Thomas W. Vance on December 14, 1940 in Palmyra, Missouri. He died August 31, 1993. Irene was a member of the Denver Christian Church and South Side Boat Club. She was a loving and devoted mother and especially enjoyed the time she shared with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Surviving is a daughter, Marsha Hutmacher of Quincy; two sons, Dr. Richard L. Vance and his wife Gail and Dr. Thomas J. Vance and his wife Vicky both of Quincy; a daughter in law, Jeanette Vance of Indianapolis, IN.; eight grandchildren, Amy Corvillion and her husband Tim and Cameron Vance all of Crystal Lake, IL., Jamie E. Vance of Dallas, TX., Lawrence "Drew" Hutmacher and his wife Tamra, Tracy W. Hutmacher and his wife Julie and Maxx T. Vance all of Quincy, Sara A.Beck and her husband Jeff of Columbus, IN. and Brooke E. Vance of Indianapolis, IN.; ten great grandchildren, Taylor Hutmacher, Allie Hutmacher and Hannah Hutmacher all of Quincy, Devon Vance, Meghan Vance, Christopher Israel, Garrett Israel and Morgan Israel all of Crystal Lake, IL. and Madeline Beck and Lucy Beck both of Columbus, IN.; a sister, Lois Harberts and her husband John of Quincy; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Vance was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, James A. Vance; and a sister, Kathryn Haschemeyer. Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 10:00 in Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Harmony Cemetery near Denver, IL. Visitation will be Monday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 and Tuesday until the time of services at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. |
