MILDRED VANDENBOOM
 

Mrs. Mildred VandenBoom, 88, of Good Samaritan Home, formerly of 816 N. 24th, died at 11:57 p.m. Friday (August 29, 2003) in the home.

Born April 24, 1915 in Barry, Mildred was the daughter of George F. and Amy L. Kern Dabney. She married Arthur H. VandenBoom on September 15, 1937 in Quincy. He died October 26, 1989.

Mrs. VandenBoom was a member of the First Christian Church, the Carley Class, the "We Modern Club," and the Church Women United. Mildred was also active in the Miriam White Shrine of Jerusalem #3, and the Good Samaritan Home Auxiliary. She graduated from Quincy High School in 1934.

In her earlier years Mildred was employed by the Halbach Schroeder Company for several years before retiring in 1945.

Surviving is one daughter, Karen Jean Greenwood and her husband Ron of Rockford, IL.; one son, Ronald Kent VandenBoom and his wife Debe of Havre, MT.; four grandchildren, Lynda Yoder and her husband Brett of Geneseo, IL., Susan Tresemer and her husband Glenn of Zeeland, MI., Douglas VandenBoom of Moscow, ID., and Victoria VandenBoom of Helena, MT.; three step grandchildren, Lloyd Estell of Gillette, WY., Rachel Estell of Great Falls, MT., and Crystal Estell of Havre, MT.; eight great grandchildren, Joshua, Nathan, and Zachary Yoder of Geneseo, IL., Brandon, Nicolas, and Tanner Tresemer of Zeeland, MI., Christian VandenBoom and Keely Lahara of Helena, MT.; six step great grandchildren, Ayla, Chantra, and Brandon Estell of Gillette, WY., Alissa Bleeker and Whisper Watson of Great Falls, MT., and Lillie Mecklenburg of Havre, MT.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a granddaughter, Kimberly Ann VandenBoom.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 11:00 in the First Chistian Church by Rev. Joby Brown. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Wednesday morning from 10:00 until the time of services at the church.

Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church or to the Shriner's Children Hospital.
