Mrs. Fred "Fritz"
Veile, 94, of Good Samaritan Home, formerly of 1021
State, died at 12:15 p.m. Sunday (August 15, 2004) at the home.
Born September 19, 1909 in Quincy, Fritz was the son of Frank and Lena
Lutz Veile. He married Aurelia A. Schroeder on November 25, 1930 in Quincy.
She died September 20, 1990.
Mr. Veile was a member of Salem Evangelical United Church of Christ.
He
was very active in church activities where he was a member of the Salem
Brotherhood, headed up the Chruch bowling committe, was an usher and money
counter, and took great pride in his flower plantings on the church grounds.
Fritz was employed at Electric Wheel for 15 years and at Electric Wheel
division of Firestone for 18 years until his retirement in 1970.
Surviving is a son, Donald Veile and his wife Kay of Las Vegas, NV.;
four grandchildren, Sanford Veile and his wife Leah of Monterey, CA.,
William Veile and his wife Ruth, Ellen Smutzs and her husband Marty and
Pamela Adair and her husband Kevin, all of Sacramento, CA.; five great
grandchildren, Jason Veile, William J. Veile, Kayla Veile, Matthew Veile,
and Kevin Adair, all of Sacramento, CA.; a special cousin, Marie Williams
of
Quincy; and a sister in law, Lola Schroeder of Golden.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; an infant daughter,
Amanda; four brothers, Albert, Walter, Clarence, and Joseph Veile; and
two
sisters, Luella and Clara Veile.
Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 10:30 at Salem
Evangelical United Church of Christ by Rev. Wanda Seydel. Burial will
be in
Greenmount Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 at the
Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Fuenral Home and Thursday morning from
9:30 until the time of services at the Church.
Memorials may be made to Salem Evangelical United Church of Christ.
