LUELLA I. LIERLE WATERMAN
 
Mrs. Luella Irene Lierle Waterman, 80 of 1500 Spring, died at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday (February 20, 2002) in her home.

Born September 11, 1921 in Basco, IL., Mrs. Waterman was the daughter of Lacy and Edith Harrison Guymon. She married Melvin Lierle on September 14, 1943 in Gulfport, MS. He died December 21, 1967. She married Howard Waterman on March 3, 1973 in Quincy. He died November 14, 1995.

Luella was a active member of Central Baptist Church serving as a Deaconess and on the Missions Board. She was also a 50 year member of Mendon Chapter 153 Order of Eastern Star.

A graduate of Carthage High School and the Frances School of Beauty Culture in Quincy, Luella was a self employed Beautician for many years. She also worked as a clerk for State Street Store and in the General Store at Good Samaritan Home.

Surviving is a son, David J. "Joe" Lierle of Quincy; three step sons, Wayne Waterman and his wife Pauline of LaGrange, MO., Rev. Donald Waterman and his wife June of Greentop, MO., and Bill Waterman and his wife Linda of Jonesboro, AR.; a granddaughter, Staci Riggs of Orlando, FL.; 10 step grandchildren, Jill Feldkamp and Joy Berhorst both of LaGrange, MO., John Waterman of Durham, MO., Jeff Waterman of Quincy, Donald Waterman serving in the U. S. Navy , Vanitta Conrad of Kansas City, MO., Paula Schlager of Columbia, MO., William McCament of Sydney, MT, Kim DeMos of Michigan and Mike McQuay of Jonesboro, AR.; 14 great grandchildren; a brother, Herbert Guymon and his wife Irene of Niota, IL.; two sisters in law, Norma Guymon of Carthage, IL. and Reva Robertson of Mellow Valley, AL.; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Waterman was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; a brother, Leland Guymon; and a sister, Vivian Melton; and a brother in law, Rex Lierle.

Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 10:00 in Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. Charles Baker. Burial will be in Quincy Memorial Park.

Visitation will be Friday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday until the time of services at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Central Baptist Church or the Shriner's Children's Hospital or the Blessing Foundation for Hospice.
