| Mrs. Barbara J. Watters, 74, of 2130 Sunnybrook Dr. East, died at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday (April 30, 2002) in her home. Born October 5, 1927 in Paris, IL., Barbara was the daughter of Francis and Edna Raney Step. She married William Watters on September 11, 1947 in Quincy. He survives. Barbara was devoted to her family and loved attending her grandchildren's activities. She also enjoyed going to auctions and antiquing. Also surviving are two sons, William R. Watters and Robert Watters and his wife Karen both of Quincy; two daughters, Linda Speckhart and her husband Terry of Bloomington and Tanna Stroot and her husband John of Quincy; six grandchildren, Ryan Speckhart of Springfield, IL., David Stroot, Emily Stroot, Charles Stroot, Katie Watters and Stacy Watters all of Quincy; a sister, Kay Dodds of Quincy; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Watters was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will held Saturday morning at 10:30 in Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by Pastor Matt Gilchrist. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday until the time of services at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Blessing Foundation for Hospice. |
