| Mr. George S. Webster Jr., 78, of 1518 Granview Drive, died at 8:16 p.m. Thursday January 25, 2001 in Memorial
Medical Center in Springfield, IL. Born October 18, 1922 in Kansas City, MO., Mr. Webster was the son of George Stephen and Faye Wilson Webster Sr. He married Helen Smith on January 25, 1941. He later married Irene Grimes on May 16, 1972 in Kansas City, MO. She died February 3, 1999. Mr. Webster was a graduate of Central High School in Kansas City in 1939 and attended Manual Trade School in Kansas City. He was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church and the Brotherhood of St. Andrew at the church. He was also a member of the Irwin Kirkwood American Legion Post #386 in Kansas City and the Temple Masonic Lodge in Kansas City. George served his country in the Navy in WWII. Mr. Webster was in the grocery business in Kansas City for several years and was later employed as a painter at St. Mary's Hospital for over ten years retiring in 1988. He was named employee of the year in 1984-1985. Surviving are two daughters, Georgia Stone, and Gail A. Campbell and her husband John both of Tucson, AZ.; one son, Stephen Webster of Tucson, AZ.; nine grandchildren, Nicole Lehto and her husband Wesley, Todd Bozoich, and Noelle Bozoich, all of Tucson, AZ., Chris Webster and Michelle Webster, both of CA., John Webster of Las Vegas, NV., and Steven Webster and Tim Webster, both of Utah; five great grandchildren; one sister, Mary Revenall of Kansas City, MO.; two nieces and one nephew. Mr. Webster was preceded in death by his parents and his wife. Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 11:00 at St. John's Episcopal Church by The Very Rev'd Canon H.W. Sandy Herrmann, SSC and The Rev'd Father Daniel L. Banner, SSC. Private inurnment will be Tuesday in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 until 11:00 Monday morning at the church. Memorials may be made to St. John's Episcopal Church. A luncheon reception will immediately follow the liturgy at the church. |
