| Richard Gene Whitehead, 42 of 1340 North 1720th Ave., Fowler, died at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday (January 9, 2002) in
his home. Born February 23, 1959 in Quincy, Richard Gene was the son of Bobby Gene and Shirley Ann Goodwin Whitehead. He married Cindy M. Hagerty on December 22, 1975 in Quincy. She survives. Mr. Whitehead attended Madison Park Christian Church. He was a 1977 graduate of Quincy High School and enjoyed camping, boating and playing cards with his family and friends. Mr. Whitehead was employed at ADM as a boiler operator for 20 years. Surviving is his wife, Cindy; two sons, James Whitehead of Liberty and Shawn Whitehead of Mendon; a grandson, Dillan Whitehead of Liberty; his mother, Shirley Ann Dean of Ewing, MO; his father and step mother, Bobby Gene and Charlotte Whitehead of Karnak, IL.; two brothers, Christopher Mozingo of Tucson, AZ. and Michael Whitehead of Luray, MO; a sister, Debbie Platt of LaBelle, MO; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Whitehead was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Verne and Letha Goodwin; and his maternal grandparents, Earl Whitehead and Helen Seymour. Visitation will be held Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home. Cremation rites will be accorded Mr. Whitehead following the visitation. Private family services will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Richard Gene Whitehead Memorial Fund. |
