Mrs. Clara Lucille Willard, 97, of the Good Samaritan Home, formerly of 3219 Lindell, died at 6:00 a.m. Thursday (September 26, 2002) in Good Samaritan Home. Born September 10, 1905 in Augusta, Illinois, Clara was the daughter of Daniel H. and Mary Hannah Watts Mickle. She married W. Loren Willard on June 17, 1925 in Quincy. He died on April 14, 1984. Clara was a member of First Christian Church since October 1952 and was active with the Carley Class and prayer groups and church circles. She was a 50 year member of Alpha Chapter #109 Order of Eastern Star and a life member of the Good Samaritan Home Auxiliary. Clara was employed by Halbach-Schroeder and later in the office at Merkel's Hardware. She retired in 1970. Surviving is a daughter, Geraldine Jones of Tuscon, AZ.; and a granddaughter, Barbara Buda of Austin, TX.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Clara was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a sister, Mae Cowdery; a half sister, Shirley Purdum; and a half brother, Carl Mickle. Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 1:00 in Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. Bill Brown. Burial will be in Quincy Memorial Park. Visitation will be Tuesday from 12:00 Noon until the time of services at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church or Good Samaritan
