Mrs. Grace P. Williams, 95, of the St. Vincents Home, formerly of 1020 Locust, Quincy, died at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday (February 4, 2004) in Blessing Hospital. Born June 21, 1908 in Augusta, Grace was the daughter of James and Emma Dunbar Thorton. She married Kenneth F. Williams on August 16, 1930 in West Point, Illinois. He died on August 15, 1999. Grace was a member of Bethel Assembly of God. She was a 1927 graduate of Quincy High School, and enjoyed Southern Gospel quartet music, reading, and watching old movies especially westerns. Surviving are two sons; Dean Williams of Keokuk, IA and Max Williams and his wife Ellie of Quincy; three grandchildren, Leah Williams of Keokuk, IA., David Williams of Keokuk, IA. and Mark Williams of Keokuk, IA. and his fiance Wendy Thyson of Quincy; a great grandchild David Williams II of Chicago; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, and a sister Helen Mullery; and a daughter in law, Clarita Williams. Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 10:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. Barry Clair. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday morning from 9:00 until the time of services at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Bethel Assembly of God Church or St. Vincent's Home. |
