| Mr. Robert D. Winfield, 79, of 527 Broadway, died at 6:55 p.m. Monday (January 1, 2001) at Timber Point Health
Care Center in Camp Point. Born October 21, 1921 in Bowen, Mr. Winfield was the son of Arthur and Edith Bartlett Winfield. He married Imogene Knight on December 5, 1940 in Palmyra, MO. She survives. Mr. Winfield served his country in the U. S. Army during WW II, receiving one Bronze Battle Star. He was a P. O. W. in Germany for over four months. He was a member of Am Vets, Laborer's Local 919 and enjoyed fishing and camping. Mr. Winfield was a truck driver in the Bowen and Quincy area and was later employed by Diamond Construction for many years until his retirement in 1984. Also surviving is a daughter, Patricia Moritz and her husband Richard of Quincy; two sons, Dan Winfield and his companion, Norma of Hannibal, MO. and Richard Winfield and his wife Janet of Tulsa, OK.; seven grandchildren, Bryon Winfield and his wife Angie, Gena DeWitt and her husband Vince, Teresa Walker, Stephanie Kindhart and her husband John all of Quincy, Jason Winfield and Laura Winfield both of Tulsa, OK. and Gary Moritz and his wife Jill of Aurora, CO.; 10 great grandchildren; a great great granddaughter; two sisters, Maxine Hoenig and her husband Frank of Keosauqua, IA. and Betty Cullen and her husband Jack of of Palm Desert, CA.; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Winfield was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 11:00 at Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home with Randy Runser officiating . Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday evening and Saturday until the time of services at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Blessing Foundation for Hospice. |
