Mrs. Linda Diane Wintjen, 58, of rural Quincy, died at 6:00 a.m. Sunday (November 25, 2001) in her home.

Born December 23, 1942 in Lone Pine, CA., Linda was the daughter of Oliver and Peggy Viterna Peterson. She married James E. Wintjen on June 15, 1974 in Lone Pine, CA. He survives.

Linda was member of the Mormon church. She enjoyed oil painting, crafts, fishing, and cooking.

Also surviving is, her mother, Peggy Peterson of Mexico; two daughters, Debbie Jump and her husband Harry of Perry, IL., and Linda Sue Smith and her husband Daniel of Lone Pine, CA.; one son, Garry Whitaker and his wife Lucy of Corning CA.; three stepdaughters Carolyn Logsdon and her husband Vernon of Versailles, Debbie Hull and her husband Eric, and Sandy Butler and her husband Edward, both of Perry, IL.; one stepson James E. Wintjen Jr. and his wife Dee of Barry; thirteen grandchildren; one great grandchild; and one brother, Kenner Peterson of Los Angeles, CA.

She was preceded in death by her father, one daughter, Rogenia Whitaker; and two grandchildren.

Cremation rites were accorded. No funeral services are planned. Private family burial will take place at a later date.
