| Mrs. Opal O. Wittler, 88, of North Adams Home, formerly of 4232 Bishop Drive., died at 7:10 p.m. Thursday (July
25, 2002) in North Adams Home. Born April 20, 1914 in Fletcher, Oklahoma, Opal was the daughter of Frank and Orpha Whaley Kitsmiller. She married Virgil H. Wittler on August 21, 1935 in Quincy. He died December 30, 1974. Opal was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Fowler. Surviving are two sons, Byron L. Wittler and his wife Donna of Quincy and Glenn Kyle Wittler and his wife Penny of Columbia, MO.; seven grandchildren, Teresa Maloney and her husband Charles of Roscoe, IL., Michael Wittler and his wife Dana of Quincy, Kara Gehrt and her husband Brian of Mahomet, IL., Kraig Wittler of Anoka, MN., Susan Baker and her husband John of Osage Beach, MO., Catherine Wittler and Caleb Wittler both of Columbia, MO.; a step grandchild, Samantha Wallace of DeLand, IL.; seven great grandchildren, Ashley Trenter of Osage Beach, MO., Zackery Wittler, Sara Wittler and Joshua Wittler all of Quincy, Jacob Ericson of Blaine, MN. and Rileyann Maloney and Kate Maloney both of Roscoe, IL.; two sisters, Hazel Brinkman of St. Louis, MO. and Maxine Kaufman of Quincy; a sister in law, Florence Watson of Winfield, IA.; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Wittler was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a brother, Lloyd Kitsmiller. Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 10:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. Jack Perdue. Burial will be in Quincy Memorial Park. Visitation will be Sunday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 and Monday until the time of services at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to St. Paul's United Church of Christ or to North Adams Home. |
