JOHN WRAY
Mr. John Wray, 90, of the Good Samaritan Home, died at 10:35 a.m. Thursday (August 9, 2001) in Good Samaritan Home.

Born March 5, 1911 in Quincy, Mr. Wray was the son of John Thomas and Laura Lewis Wray. He married Ellen Speckhart on October 17, 1940 in Quincy. She survives.

Mr. Wray was a member of Ellington Memorial Presbyterian Church. He farmed in Adams County all of his life.

Also surviving is a son, J. James Wray and his wife Mary Ann of Quincy; a daughter, Charlotte Baecker and her husband Charles of Monroe City, MO.; five grandchildren, J. D. Neiswender, J. Michael Wray and his wife Savy, David Alan Baecker, Anne Renee Duncan and her husband Judson and Shari Sue Robesky and her husband James; two great grandchildren, Sean Henry Robesky and Samantha Wray Robesky; a sister, Ruth Orr of Ventura, CA.; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Wray was preceded in death by a daughter, Janet Neiswender; and a sister, Alice Meyer.

Memorial services will be held Sunday afternoon at 1:30 in Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. Richard McFarlin.

Visitation will be Sunday from 12:00 Noon until the time of services at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Good Samaritan Home or the Janet Neiswender Scholarship for Special Education.
