AARON COLE "COLEY" STORMER
Aaron Cole "Coley" Stormer, 86, of Quincy, passed away at 8:50 am Tuesday (September 18, 2018) in Blessing Hospital.
Born May 14, 1932 in Quincy, Coley was the son of Aaron Marque and Marjorie Louise Cole Stormer. He was first married to Mary Bennett. He then married Peggy Fluharty on October 4, 1974. She preceded him in death on June 21, 2009.
Coley was a 1950 graduate of Quincy High School. He was a lifetime member of the Elks Club No. 100 and the NRA and enjoyed reading, sailboating, playing pinochle and visiting with his friends.
Coley proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War.
As a young man Coley worked with his father Aaron M. Stormer at the Stormer Funeral Home. He was later employed at a Bank in Sherrills Ford, North Carolina before retiring and moving back to Quincy.
Survivors include a son, Aaron M. "Toby" Stormer of Barry, IL; two step grandchildren, Jolene Buford of GA and Jon-Paul Bell (Jessie) of Jacksonville, NC; two sisters in law, Ann Fluharty and Dotty Clyatt.
Aaron was preceded in death by his parents; both of his wives; his twin sons, Michael and Matthew Stormer and his sister, Joyce Stormer Settle.
Graveside services with military honors by the United States Marine Corps Funeral Honors Detail will be held Monday morning at 11:00 in Greenmount Cemetery with Pastor Steve Disseler officiating.
Visitation will be held Monday morning from 10:00 until 10:45 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice
