ALBERT JAMES BOONE
Mr. Albert James Boone, 84, of the Illinois Veteran's Home in Quincy, formerly of Palos Park, Illinois, died at 7:30 a.m. Monday (January 7, 2013) in the Veteran's Home.
Born March 11, 1928 in Chicago, Albert was the son of Ira and Elizabeth Vogeli Boone. He married Helen M. Wheeler December 18, 1958, in Chicago. She preceded him in death in 2004.
Mr. Boone served his country in the U. S. Army during the Korean War and was awarded three Bronze Service Stars.
He enjoyed spending time in Michigan fishing and hunting.
Mr. Boone was employed as a truck driver for Brandenberg Demolition Company of Chicago for many years until his retirement.
Survivors include three daughters, Nancy Boone of Homer Glen, IL, Holly Boone of Homer Glen IL and Cory Boone (Dan Celske) of Fox River Grove, IL; a son, Glen Boone of Palos Park, IL; and three grandchildren, Ellen, Quinn and Sam.
Mr. Boone was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Helen; a brother, Ira F. Boone; and two sisters, Dorothy Munch and Helen Thornton.
Cremation rites have been accorded to Mr. Boone. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be in Arlington Hill Cemetery in Bangor, Michigan.
