ALBERTA ANN STONER
Alberta Ann Stoner, 81, of Quincy, passed away at 10:10 am Thursday (August 2, 2018) in her home.
Born March 28, 1937 in Quincy, Alberta was the daughter of Lester C. and Pearl Seward Rossiter Sr.
A 1955 graduate of Quincy High School, Alberta enjoyed traveling around the world, vacationing on Ocean Liner cruises and playing golf. Alberta was a member of The Elks Auxiliary, the YMCA and was a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan.
Alberta was a member of Salem Evangelical United Church of Christ. She was Baptized in the Central Baptist Church on 7th and Broadway.
She had been employed at the Quincy Paper Box for several years until it's closing. Alberta then worked in retail for many years until her retirement. After her retirement she was employed as as a home health care worker for Care Link.
Survivors include a son, Donald L. Altgilbers Jr. of Quincy; a sister, Barbara Wilcoxon (Don) of Deerfield Beach, FL; two cousins, Katie Nebe and Dolly Pearl Seward both of Quincy; her best friend Lareva Glessner of Quincy and a nephew, Bruce Wilcoxon of FL.
Mrs. Stoner was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Lester Rossiter Jr. and a very special friend Ron Tyron.
Cremation has been accorded to Alberta. Graveside services for close friends and family will be held Thursday (August 9, 2018) afternoon at 1:00 in Durham Cemetery, in Durham, Missouri with Pastor Steve Disseler officiating.
A celebration of life hosted by Rev. Bobby Riney will be held Saturday evening at 7:00 pm (August 11, 2018) in the Church of the Holy Spirit with the retired Rev. Michaelene Howard-Hall officiating.
Memorials may be made to the Durham Cemetery, Blessing Hospice or to a charity of the donor's choice.
