ANN E. EMMONS
Ann E. Emmons, 98, of St. Vincent's Home in Quincy, formerly of Payson, Illinois, died at 3:20 a.m. Tuesday (June 10, 2014) in St. Vincent's Home.
Born July 3, 1915 in Payson, Illinois, Ann was the daughter of Otis and Florence Dunlap Groce. She married Woodrow "Curly" McNutt who preceded her in death. She later married Brian Emmons who preceded her in death.
Ann loved music and was an accomplished organist and pianist. She also enjoyed cooking, being outdoors in her garden tending to her roses and watching the animals and birds.
Ann moved to California in 1936 where she became a Registered Nurse, working in local hospitals where she lived. She moved back to area in 2008 and had lived at the Lincoln Douglas Apartments until moving to St. Vincent's Home.
Survivors include a sister, Ruth Perry of LaBelle, MO; a daughter in law, Donna McNutt of Bakersfield, CA; and many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Mrs. Emmons was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Franklin Delano McNutt; two brothers, Alvin Groce and James Groce; and two sisters, Alice Ruckles and Leone Melander.
Graveside services will be held Thursday morning at 11:00 in Payson New Cemetery by Mr. Clif Weisinger.
There is no visitation, but friends are invited to the graveside service.The Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
