ANTHONY J. EDWARDS
Anthony Joseph Edwards, 34, of Liberty, Illinois, passed away at 12:52 p.m. Saturday (July 28, 2018) in his home.
Born July 24, 1984 in Quincy, Anthony was the son of Marty Edwards and Sherri Cook.
Anthony attended Liberty schools where he was active with F.F.A. and Band until he was a sophomore when he moved to Hillsdale, Illinois. He was a graduate of Riverdale High School in Port Byron, Illinois and had been active with Band. Anthony enjoyed painting and creating works of art, but his passion in life was cooking. He was employed at various restaurants as a cook, most recently for Gem City Pizzeria in Quincy.
Survivors include his mother, Sherri Bradley (Ron) of Liberty; his father, Marty Edwards of Hillsdale, IL; his brother, Christopher Edwards of Quincy; two sisters, Holly Edwards of Liberty and Nena Bradley of Liberty; two half sisters, Nichole Thurman and Elizabeth Edwards both of Davenport, IA; a step brother, Jammy Upton of Davenport, IA; a step sister, Trisha Upton of Davenport, IA; three nephews, Cadyn, Landen and Bentley; his maternal grandmother, Wanda Cook of Quincy; his paternal grandmother, Delores Vermast of Moline, IL; his maternal step grandmother, Janey Bradley of Ursa, IL; and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
Anthony was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Walter Cook; maternal step grandparents, Virgil and Nena Bradley; and two uncles, Ricky Lee Cook and Mike Edwards.
Cremation arrangements are in the care of the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home.
Memorial services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home in Quincy with the Rev. Ronald Graham officiating.
Memorial visitation will be Tuesday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 and Wednesday afternoon from 1:30 until the time of services at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Sherri Bradley to help with expenses.
