AUDREY MAE ANDREWS
Audrey Mae Andrews, 88, of Quincy, died at 7:24 p.m. Monday (March 14, 2016) in her home surrounded by her loving family.
Born October 16, 1927 on the family farm in Kahoka, Missouri, Audrey was the daughter of Andrew W. and Mae Irene Wright Ferguson. In 1953, she married John Albert Andrews Sr. in Corning, Arkansas. He preceded her in death on July 20, 1976.
Audrey enjoyed traveling with her husband and children and playing Bingo, but her greatest joy was taking care of her family, especially babysitting for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Audrey will be remembered by her family for her cooking, being known for her fried chicken and vegetable soup.
Audrey worked as a cook for various restaurants in Quincy for many years.
Survivors include six children, Mae Neiswinter (Bill), John Andrews III, Joyce Andrews, Audrey Meyers, Jack Andrews and Denise Griffith all of Quincy; 32 grandchildren; 68 great grandchildren; three step children, Julie, Lillian and Richard; a brother, Andy Ferguson (Lila) of Kahoka, MO; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Audrey was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John; three daughters, Mabel England, Mary Ann Andrews and Rose Marie Andrews; two sons, Joe Andrews and Larry Ferguson; four step children, David, John Jr., Mona and Orville; a brother, Louis Ferguson; and two sisters, Linora Drummond and Doris Ferguson.
Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by Pastor Jon Mitchell. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday afternoon from 12:00 until the time of services at the funeral home.
