Betty J. (Simpson) Wolf

April 5, 1924 ~ October 25, 2015 (age 91)

   Betty J. Wolf, 91, of Quincy, died at 8:54 p.m. Sunday (October 25, 2015) in Sunset Home.

   Born April 5, 1924 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Betty was the daughter of Clarence Simpson and Gertrude Harbison.  She married Russell O. "Russ" Wolf on December 21, 1940 in Palmyra, Missouri.  He preceded her in death on October 9, 2004.

   Betty was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Church in Quincy and the St. Mary Hospital Retiree's Group.  Betty had the highest test score when she wrote her State Board Finals for her LPN degree.  She enjoyed reading, crocheting and counter cross stitching, but most of all she loved to take care of her family.

   Betty had been employed as an LPN at St. Mary Hospital for twenty years before retiring in 1985.

   Survivors include three sons, Jerry W. Wolf (Robin) of Elk Grove, CA, Michael "Mike" Wolf (Melanie) of Quincy and Jeffrey K. Wolf (Gina) of Quincy; six grandchildren, Heather Carter of Alamogordo, NM, Kathryn Garcia (Todd) of Carmichael, CA, Nicholas Wolf and Ashley Wolf both of Quincy, Amber Bishop (Robert) and CPT. Joshua Wolf of South Korea; six great grandchildren, Madeline U'Ren, Nikka Swanigan, Athena Bishop, Waylon Wolf, Charlotte Garcia and Russell Garcia; and a half-sister, Georgia Walker (John) of Beardstown, IL.  

   Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Russell; a brother, Paul "Bud" Simpson; a half brother, Kenneth Barton; her step-father, Clifford Barton; and a special uncle, Jim Harbison.  

   A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday morning (November 7, 2015)  at Blessed Sacrament Church at 10:00 with Monsignor Michael Kuse officiating.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

   Visitation will be held Friday evening (November 6, 2015)  from 4:00 until 6:00 at the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home and Saturday morning (November 7, 2015)  from 8:30 to 9:30 at the Sunset Home Chapel. A prayer service will be held at 3:30 Friday evening at the funeral home.

   Memorials may be made to the Blessed Sacrament School or to the Blessing Heart Center.
