BETTY M. MIDDENDORF
Betty M. Middendorf, 90, of Quincy, died at 2:48 pm Saturday (April 25, 2015) in Blessing Hospital.
Born October 2, 1924 in Springfield, IL, Betty was the daughter of Jacob and Margaret Winklehake Cramer. She married Leroy E. Middendorf October 17, 1946 in Virginia, IL.
Betty graduated from Virginia High School with the class of 1942. She worked as a switchboard operator for the Illinois Bell Telephone Company with Cass County for several years until her retirement in 1960.
Betty enjoyed playing cards, spending time with friends and family, and playing bridge with her friends from the Virgina Womens Club. Betty and her husband wintered in Florida for 31 years and made many new friends every year from all over the United States. She and her daughter especially loved collecting antique glassware, going to flea markets and auctions, and running a vendor booth called "Mother and Daughter Pastimes".
Survivors include husband Leroy of Quincy; a daughter, Leann Flanagan (Michael) of Quincy; a son, Royce Middendorf (Debbie) of Quincy; and a granddaughter Laura E. Flanagan of New York City, NewYork.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents Jacob and Margaret Cramer, five sisters, and three brothers.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 11:00 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home with Pastor George Tomko officiating.
Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 5:00-7:00 pm at Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home.
