BLANCHE A. KLUSMEYER
Blanche Alma Klusmeyer, 97, of Quincy, Illinois, passed away at 10:27 a.m. Sunday (May 6, 2018) in Blessing Hospital.
Born June 1, 1920 in Wakefield, Nebraska, Blanche was the daughter of Charles Reuben and Mabel Alice Huseman Lindsey. She married William Valentine "Bud" Klusmeyer on April 4, 1940 in Palmyra, Missouri. He preceded her in death on March 2, 1983.
Blanche was a member of St. James Lutheran Church where she was very active with the Ladies Aid Society. She enjoyed feeding the birds and squirrels. She loved God and the beautiful world He created. She enjoyed listening to the birds sing and watching nature grow and bloom. She enjoyed a glass of wine on the deck in the evening, but her greatest joys came from spending time with her loving family. She was a kind and loving mother. grandmother, and great grandmother and will be deeply missed by all.
Survivors include her children, Donald Lee Klusmeyer of Quincy, Karen Ruth Kiefer of Quincy, Richard Allan Klusmeyer (Jerri) of Mendon, IL, Diane Lynn Prunty of Olathe, KS and Judith Anne McKinney (Jim) of Quincy her son in law, Patrick Killday of Montgomery City MO; 17 grandchildren, Lori Ann Courtney (Brad Weisenberger), Keith Klusmeyer (Pam), Tara Lynn Klusmeyer (Dave Rettenmeier), George Robert Kiefer (Tracy), Robin Renee Carlson (Lance), Julie Ann Martin (Donnie), Jeffery Allen Kiefer (Beth), Timothy Glen Killday (Dalene), Ann Marie Ramsey (Shad), Richard Allan Klusmeyer II (Sara), Seth Jeret Klusmeyer (Holly), Alicia Marie Weiman (Dave), Stacy Jo Prunty, Dustin Kent Prunty, James Robert McKinney (Kate Gosnell), Justin Thomas McKinney (Stephanie) and Jessica Anne Baker; 34 great grandchildren; 9 great great grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Blanche was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William "Bud" Klusmeyer; her daughter, Cheryl Ann Killday; a daughter in law, Judy Klusmeyer; two sons in law, Jim Kiefer and Kent Prunty; a grandson, Shawn Michael Killday; two great-grandsons, Ethan Richard Weiman and Anthony Carlson; and two sisters, Romaine Stroot and Geraldine Bennett.
Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 10:30 in St. James Lutheran Church with Pastor Michael Fieberkorn officiating. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 at the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home and Thursday morning from 10:00 until the time of services at St. James Lutheran Church.
