BRENDA GALE EPKER
Brenda Gale Epker, 77, of Quincy, passed away at 5:20 am Monday (August 27, 2018) in Blessing Hospital.
Born April 27, 1941 in Quincy, Brenda was the daughter of Harold Moody and Juanita Fay Williams Selby. She married Donald Leroy Epker on July 1, 1961 in Quincy. He preceded her in death on November 5, 1999.
Brenda was a 1959 graduate of Quincy High School. She enjoyed karaoke, gardening, taking walks, taking care of her flowers, camping, swimming and mushroom hunting. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Brenda was first employed at the International Shoe Company in Quincy until its closing. She then worked at Quincy Paper Box for 20 years. After her retirement she worked as a telemarketer for Quincy Home and Improvement Company.
Survivors include a daughter, Lana Fredericks (Dana Church) of Quincy; four grandchildren, Amber Barger Wright (Steven), Vanessa Rae Lucas (Alex), Scott Martin Fredericks and Romyn Joseph Roberts all of Quincy; six great grandchildren, Ayden Lee Dietrich, Ava Kay Lynn Nieders, Brydon Scott Nieders, Emilio Landon Lucas, Rebecca Rose Wright and Peyton Wayne Wright all of Quincy; a brother, Dennis Denny "Dee" Selby of Quincy; a sister in law, Patricia Brown of La Grange, MO; her dear friends, Teresa Barger (Scott Hogan), Ginny Miller, Rosie Terstriep and Pat Kitchell all of Quincy. Also surviving are several loving nieces and nephews including two special nieces Sharon Stathem and Tina Boltz (Bobby) both of Quincy.
Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Donald, a son Dana Scott Epker and a sister Mariam Jane Kelly.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday morning at 11:45 in Greenmount Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday morning from 10:30 am until 11:30 am in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home.
The family will host a luncheon from 12:30 pm until 3:00 pm at the Crossing Church located at 929 Monroe. Please bring a covered dish or a dessert and park in back in the alley.
Memorials may be made to the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home to help the family with funeral expenses.
