CARL K. MORAN
Carl K. Moran, 85, of Payson died at 9:04 p.m. Friday (August 29, 2014) in his home.
Born June 30, 1929 in Farmer, Missouri, Carl was the son of John Otto and Elizabeth Alma Hickerson Moran.
Carl served his country in the Army during the Korean War. He enjoyed reading, gardening, mushroom hunting and was an avid Cardinal baseball fan.
Mr. Moran was a machinist at Gardner-Denver for 30 years until his retirement in 1991.
Survivors include his significant other Bernice Schuckenbrock of Bowling Green, MO; five children, Glenda Hild (Thomas) of Payson, IL, Gary Moran (Chris) of Quincy, Carlene Williams (Randy) of Payson, Tim Moran (Teresa Miller) of Payson and Rhonda Brinks-Long (Tobi) of Payson; eleven grandchildren Leslie Brink (Brendon), Tina Peters (Shawn), Brandi Schenk (Ryan), Melissa Schade (Nathan), Brittny Jolynn Moran, Megan Moran, Carson Moran, Sara Williams (Jesse Nemecek), Dell Williams, Jason Brinks (Shanna) and Ryan Brinks. Also surviving are 13 great grandchildren; one brother Donald Moran of Vandalia, MO; four sisters Melba Moran of Quincy, Mae Scanlon of ColdSprings, KY, Louise Tomanio (Carl) of Danbury, CT and Jean Griffith of Quincy. Also surviving are many loving nieces and nephews.
Mr. Moran was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers John Moran, Richard Moran, John Otto Moran Jr., Robert Moran, Malcom Moran and Jessie Moran; two sisters Mildred Riley and Patricia Luzcak.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning 10:30 am in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home in Payson with Pastor Steve Disseler officiating. Burial with military honors by Payson VFW Post No. 2061 and the Illinois National Guard Funeral Detail will be in Payson New Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 4:00 unitl 7:00 and Wednesday morning until the time of services in the Zehnder Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home in Payson.
