CARL A. ZOLLER
Mr. Carl A. Zoller, 83, of the Illinois Veterans Home, formerly of 1625 Adams, Quincy, died at 1:00 a.m. Tuesday (January 17, 2012) in the veteran's home.
Born January 31, 1928 in Quincy, Carl was the son of George and Gladys Collins Zoller. He married Berneda Wolf on November 28, 1953 in Grace Methodist Church in Quincy. She preceded him in death on August 31, 2010.
Carl was a member of Grace United Methodist Church until their closing. He enjoyed working in his yard, gardening and fishing at the Lake of the Ozarks and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He served his country in the U. S. Army during the Korean War.
Carl was employed as a mechanic for Geise Buick for 32 years until his retirement.
Survivors include four daughters, Carla Zoller of Quincy, Donna Phillips and her husband Steve of Maywood, MO, Sara Kroeger and her husband Terry of Quincy and Rebecca Green and her husband J. R. of Gastonia, NC; one son, Mark Zoller and his wife Diane of Quincy; ten grandchildren, Lukas Phillips and his wife Trisha, Lindsay Phillips, Nikki Zoller, Ashlee Zoller, Alexis Green, Kaitlyn Green, Grayson Green, Hanna Kroeger, Grant Kroeger and Drew Kroeger; two great grandchildren, Zakijah and Zakarius; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Berneda; and a brother, Donald Zoller.
Carl gifted his body to medical science. A memorial service and celebration of Carl's life will be held Friday morning at 10:30 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. Tom Rains. Private inurnment will be held at a later date in Greenmount Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday morning from 9:30 until the time of services at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Blessing Foundation for Hospice or the Illinois Veteran's Home Activity Fund.
